Think Anthropologically

This social movement relates to the concept that gender is a relation of power.  The movement Ni Una Menos is about fighting the power structure that allows violence against women to continue.  The movement is focused on fighting the patriarchy in the different institutions that allow violence against women to continue.  One of the institutions that they are fighting is the government, which holds a lot of power over people.  Beyond violence, the movement is also fighting inequalities that women and individuals in the LGBT+ community face.  Some of these issues are pay inequality, gender roles, and objectification.

These social movements also relate to how the concept that gender intersect with other relations of power that produce difference.  One activist that exemplifies this is Macedonia Blas Flores.  Because of her native heritage, she was subjected to torment that other women are not necessarily given.
